Hatsumode (New Year's Pilgrimage)

Do you know about this? On the first day of classes at Tokyo Language Academy, we all go to Hatsumode to pray for good health and good luck in the new year.

Mochitsuki (rice cake pounding) contest

This is an event where local people of all ages, from grandfathers to children, make and eat rice cakes together. This is an old-fashioned custom and an experience that is hard to come by nowadays! Please look forward to it.
