You never know what will happen in class! That's why it is challenging.
Discovering the Joy of Experiencing Different Cultures During My Student Days.
I had been interested in foreign countries since high school, but it wasn't until I entered university that I truly discovered the joy of experiencing different cultures. I became friends with a Chinese exchange student who was a fan of Detective Conan, and our bond started with the surname "MOHRI." This experience led me to participate in exchange student volunteer activities, where I found it enjoyable to talk with people from different cultural backgrounds.
At university, I studied Western history, but I wanted to work in a field where I could interact with people from various countries. After graduating, I worked as a professional while spending a year retraining to acquire a Japanese language teaching qualification. I think this is a wonderful profession where I can meet people of all nationalities and ages.
Lively Classes with Unexpected Questions.
I teach everything from beginner classes, where students learn hiragana, to advanced classes, where they read and write complex sentences. Each class usually has about 15-20 students, and the atmosphere is lively, with lots of questions from students during lessons. To make the lessons engaging and interesting for students, I prepare various scenarios and sentence structures in advance.
Sometimes, I get questions that I, as a Japanese, would never have anticipated. It makes every class unpredictable, and that unpredictability is one of the most attractive aspects of this job.
Opening Paths to New Possibilities
In my classes, I pay close attention to the expressions on students' faces. This is especially important in beginner classes, where students may not know how to express what they don't understand in Japanese. I carefully observe their expressions and adjust my words and teaching methods to help them improve their understanding.
One of the great things about our school is that it is connected to Akademeia vocational schools, which open doors to skill acquisition, further education, and employment opportunities. The school has a lively and fun atmosphere, with people of diverse linguistic abilities, cultural backgrounds, ages, and interests.
I would be delighted if people feel encouraged to knock on our door without fear. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in my exciting and enjoyable classes.
